Artfest is always 3 days of classes. You arrive and check-in at Fort Worden on Wednesday after 3 p.m. and classes are from 9 am to 4:30 pm Thu/Fri/Sat. I carefully consider which classes I am going to take on which days. Thursday needs to be a "getting into the groove" kind class. Friday I can try something out of the box for me. Saturday can't be too challenging - cause we're usually tired and I'm a bit sad that it's the last day.
Wednesday Class with Syd McCutcheon aka Sheep Floozy was a composition/color/painting class. Much fun as I love Syd's color palette:
and here's one of my tries - there were three in all:
Thursday was class with Michelle Allen - I had a bit of a challenge because the part of my brain that sorts out spatial relationships was inoperable and I packed a box that was way too big.
So here's what Michelle was thinking we might be able to make (and some great students did)
and this is what I made (and I am very happy about - who knew I could make a 3D figure out of paper clay?) I'm going to give the whole project another go around very soon!
And then Saturday was Karen Michel. She's into "green" art supplies and even published this book:
The class was jammed with great trips and tricks and I love my piece, though it does need a bit more work before it is ready to hang...
and moi with the lovely Karen:
Here are some pics of other artistic endeavors/accomplishments:
Camp Runamuckus member Sheba with her wonderful dolls -
My friend Gail's copper enamel necklace
a few pages from my friend Michelle's art journal
I dodn't take many photos this year or I'd be posting alot more of my fellow artists's creations - so much talent discovered and enjoyed. Counting down the days till Artfest 2012!

Wow. I've been reading your stuff for about a year now and this is basically the only sh*t I dont agree with. Give atleast a little credit where credit is due. Kobe got his ass kicked by this so called fluke. So what? Chill out. No one said the Rockets were the best team.

I love your paintings and I think the figure and the cat are perfect, especially as they are spatially sort of unique. It's fresh and full of whimsey and it appears that you had fun making them and that you were happy.
GREAT fun to spend a little time with you. Wish we lived closer.
