Older dogs, like Rosie, often loose their sense of smell. So finding something she will eat, besides biscuits, is tough. Her latest preference is to eat off a dinner plate and not to have any food touching. The pictured dinner includes eggs, salt-free peas and pumpkin. Yummy!
It has been a busy, mind-warping week and I have delayed posting .... but here's a sneak peak at how my BIG b-day started off....50 gorgeous roses from my sweetie! He kept asking me at dinner if I had been snooping around the house while he was out of town and found my present...which I thought was an interesting concept, as I hadn't even thought of snooping.
When we got home and settled in I heard him urgently call my name from the other side of the house and of course I went to "something is wrong with Rosie." and I yelled back..."whhhhhaaaaat...is everything OK"...my way of preparing myself as I hurry down the hall.
There he was in Carrie's office holding the door to the closet open and proudly said, "LOOK" and there, on the floor of the closet were the most beautiful roses ever!!! And I might add, they are still going strong today - almost a week later! Hint: Moana Nursery is the best place to buy roses!
Formally camera shy Linus really ham'd it up for the camera this weekend! This is Linus saying, "Get Out and Vote!" You can tell how adamant he is!
This past saturday I visited the Humane Society and the SPCA to investigate a new friend for him - very sad - there are so many cats that have been given up due to people having to move due to foreclosures...while I was at the SPCA there were two groups of people surrendering dogs. One's ribs were showing and the other dog was 10 years old! yes, you wish you could bring them all home!
Linus goes back to the vet this week to have his tooth checked and I'll be seeking the vet's opinion about the wisdom of bringing in a new friend for Linus and if I do, the appropriate age - kitten, teen or adult.
